Karen Holt joined the full-time faculty of Pace University’s MS in Publishing program in January 2019. She teaches courses in editing, as well as the Graduate Seminar.
Holt began teaching in the program as an adjunct lecturer in 2016, passing on knowledge and skills acquired during a decades-long career in publishing that included staff and freelance positions at newspapers, magazines, and book publishing houses.
Until January 2019, she was senior editor at Guideposts Books & Inspirational Media. She also has been deputy editor of Publishers Weekly, books editor at O, the Oprah Magazine, founding editor of the Reservoir Square Books imprint, and managing editor for Primedia. Her writing has appeared frequently in publications including Essence, Parade, the New York Post, Folio, Working Mother, and many others.
She holds a BA from Western Washington University and an MFA from Manhattanville College.
