Journal Sales Administrator

The Journals Sales Department of Taylor & Francis Group Publishers has an opening for a Journal Sales Administrator. This position supports all aspects of the North American library sales team, specifically the Northeastern Region, and is responsible for the following tasks:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level administrative support by conducting research, preparing statistical reports, handling information requests, and performing other duties as assigned
  • Prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters, financial statements and other documents, using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software
  • Conduct customer subscription research and analysis activities with sales team and build interpretive reports based on the data
  • Create and build customer communication including quotes and reports
  • Trouble shoot and resolve customer claim issues relating to access to online content
  • Arrange meetings and manage and maintain executive schedule
  • Work with the US sales team to meet division revenue objectives and other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Advanced fluency and proficiency in (Excel), knowledge of CRM software and the ability to quickly adapt to new applications as required;
  • Strong organization and project management skills with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously;
  • Keen attention to detail with the ability to proactively identify and address problems;
  • Previous administrative support or customer service, processing, and support experience required
  • Successful candidate will be highly organized, professional and confident.

The Social Science & Humanities Editorial group is hiring a Managing Editor.

 The Managing Editor manages all aspects of an assigned list of journals and serves as the primary contact for external editors, journal-owning and journal-affiliated societies, and internal (T&F) departments. The Managing Editor maintains each journal’s overall budget as well as the T&F contracts with external editors and societies. Conference-related travel is required.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum two (2) years previous editorial/publishing experience, preferably in academic journal publishing. Strong organizational and communications skills (both written and verbal) are required, as is knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Working knowledge of Access is a plus.

The Managing Editor will work collaboratively with the Publisher, two (2) Managing Editors and an Editorial Assistant on the Behavioral Sciences journal list.

The position will be focused on all-things Ebooks related, including converting and formatting files for ebook production, uploading them to various platforms, social networking, online marketing and publicity, jacket design, and overseeing a network of domestic and international distribution. The position will also be heavily focused on books in translation, so while the candidate is only required to speak English, he/she must also be comfortable in working with titles in other languages.
