The Women’s National Book Association (WNBA) supports “women in the book industry through literary events, networking, literacy projects, workshops, open mic nights, book clubs, and many other entertaining programs throughout the season.” If you are a student, you can become a WNBA member for $20, which consists of women and men who want to serve the book community by promoting literacy. Kelly Barnhill | Dreadful Young Ladies

Kelly Barnhill is a World Fantasy Award and Newbery Medal winner. Hosted by Greenlight Bookstore in Brooklyn, she will be presenting her newest collection of short fiction, Dreadful Young Ladies (which include witches, pirates, evil stepmothers, and invisible girls). The stories in Dreadful Young Ladies “feature bold, reality-bending fantasy underscored by rich universal themes of love, death, jealousy, and hope.” Barnhill will present and read from her new short story collection, followed by a signing and Q&A. Women’s National Book Association Event: Celebrate National Reading Group Month

Pace MS in Publishing students are invited to attend the NYC-Chapter of the Women’s National Book Association http://wnba-nyc.org/ National Reading Group Month http://www.nationalreadinggroupmonth.org/ event which will take place on Thursday, October 22nd at the General Society of Mechanics and Tradesman (right around the corner from the publishing offices)
