The Women’s National Book Association is looking for a Web Editor

The Women’s National Book Association (WNBA) is looking for a Web Editor to provide web support to the Blog Editor and Communications chair. This is a role that requires minimal upkeep to an already existing website. The Women’s National Book Association is a national nonprofit organization of women and men who “work with and value books.” The all-volunteer organization has 12 chapters and 1,000 members, and celebrated its centennial on October 28, 2017.

The Web Editor will be is responsible for:

  • Resolving website bugs as needed
  • Coordinating with web host for server maintenance/ host renewal
  • Creating and archiving website backup files
  • Updating and maintaining WordPress plugins (security plugins are especially crucial)
  • Making necessary changes to WordPress themes
  • Revising website copy on a case-by-case basis
  • Reporting issues/updates in WNBA-NYC board meetings

Position Requirements include:

  • The ability to provide support on an as-needed basis
  • The ability to attend WNBA-NYC board meetings when needed
  • Previous experience with self-hosted sites
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS/PHP (optional)
