The Oxford University Press is seeking an intern for their Ebook Global Supply Chain department. MS in Publishing students who are interested in this area of publishing should consider this great opportunity!

NOTE:  This is a COLLEGE CREDIT internship.

 

Job Ad Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring the EPUB production pipeline with the department coordinator to keep ebooks running on schedule
  • Becoming familiar with the company’s digital asset management system (DAMS)
  • Working within the DAMS to order new EPUB conversions and generate reports as needed
  • Interviewing stakeholders in Editorial, Operational and Sales departments across the global academic business to understand links in the ebook supply chain
  • Documenting ebook processes along the supply chain, such as distribution of an ebook to Amazon, and submission of an EPUB conversion request

 

This internship offers a unique opportunity to get involved in the dynamic ebook publishing operations at a major university press. The Ebook Global Supply Chain Intern will assist with coordination of ebook production and also contribute to a key ebook project at the press.

At the conclusion of the internship, the Intern will have an understanding of how various departments contribute to ebook publishing and distribution. Interns will have the opportunity to meet and learn from members of other departments as well.

 

Requirements

·         Demonstrated interest in ebooks or media technology

·         Proficiency in MS Word and Excel

·         Ability to be adaptable and flexible in a dynamic environment

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required

·         Attention to detail is a must

 

Applicants must be enrolled in a degreed program with at least one year of schooling completed, graduated from a degreed program in the past year or enrolled in a degreed program where college credit is granted for the completion of an internship.
